To celebrate Chinese New Year, (Year of the Pig), the students have created portraits of pigs inspired by local artist Anya Brock, using oil pastels and charcoal to create some impressive drawings. The students have had the kiln running overtime with clay pigs that are just so cute! Each one with its own unique style.

While some of the year 6 students found it very challenging developing their skills in the process of lino cutting, most found the result very rewarding.

The year 4 and 5 students created mono prints.

The year 6 students have designed and created Japanese Tea Ceremony bowls out of clay in a collaborate project with LOTE. The students will host a traditional style Japanese Tea Ceremony in term 4 where their tea bowls will be used to drink Sencha Tea.

The year 4 and 5 students have been researching and creating designs to be used as part of a whole school mural depicting the 6 Noongar seasons. The mural will commence in term 4 with the help of Noongar artist Justin Martin.

The students are also working on the sets for the school production this term.

Recycled Jarrah frames have been commissioned to showcase the excellence in Visual arts; the frames will be put up in the foyer of Administration. Each term, three art works will be chosen to be exhibited; this gives those students a chance to shine.

Please feel free to visit the art room any time after or before school to view the students’ creative talents. Also there is public art works all over the school so why not go on an art tour with your child and discover something new.

Looking forward to seeing you all at Parent Open Night this term.
